Day 8 - Hoi An

Today started with a walking tour of Hoi An old town.  We first visited a craft centre where we saw them making lanterns, wood carvings, embroidery and silk spinning.

We then visited a Chinese Temple where we saw conical incense sticks which were purchased and then hung up to burn for up to 3 months depending on the size of the cone.

We then walked towards the bridge to a Heritage Centre which is set in one of the oldest houses in Hoi An and is still run by members of the original family that lived here.

After lunch we walked back to the hotel along the riverside and had a rest before joining the others at the pool later in the afternoon.  Paul tried on his new silk boxer shorts that he bought at the craft centre.

We had a free evening so we walked back into the old town.  We took a boat trip on the river Thu Bon and then walked across the bridge to  An Hoi Island.  We ate here and found ourselves in the Shamrock Irish Bar listening to a very good group playing live music.
