Day 20 - Siem Reap
We had a lay in this morning and a later than usual breakfast before taking a walk to the old town before it got very hot. Our guide told us that yesterday was the hottest so far this year but will get even hotter next month ahead of the rainy season.
We walked the 2 km to the town, passing the Kings Siem Reap residence on the way. We found 'Pub Street' but most bars were closed so it wasn't very lively. Next to this was the old market but it was the usual souvenirs and fake clothing. We were continually harassed to buy something so came out and went for a cold drink down by the river. We got a tuk tuk back to the hotel as we were both wet through with sweat.

We spent the afternoon at the pool and had a massage at the hotel Spa and then took a tuk tuk back to the old town where we had a cocktail and pizza in Pub Street. It was very lively and we walked around enjoying the atmosphere.

After one final drink we walked back towards the hotel alongside the river. It was like Blackpool illuminations! All the bridges and riverside areas were beautifully lit up.

There were more illuminations and a small riverside park with stone animals near to the Kings Residence. We saw a frog on the pavement and lots of small lizards on the walls.
