Day 11 Nha Trang Islands
We checked out of our hotel but left the luggage there.
We were taken to the harbour for a boat trip around the Con Dao islands that are just off the coast of Nha Trang and consist of 15 islands and islets.
The harbour was very picturesque with all the blue fishing boats lined up.
Our boat took us around a floating fish market and past a fishing village before taking us to a beach on Mun Island with sunbeds and watersports where we spent the rest of the morning. Paul sunbathed while I swam and snorkelled. There wasn't much to see except a few small fish around the rocks.
We were taken to Con Se Tre island for lunch and then had an hour to relax in deckchairs before getting the boat back to the mainland. There were a lot of crabs and what looked like a mudskipper type creature on the sea wall and a couple of birds arrived which I think were Common Mynah Birds.
Considering we had been near a fish market and islands there were no seabirds around except for one egret which we saw on our return to the harbour.
We were taken back to the hotel where we had 4 hours free time before our evening meal. We first went to the hotel pool for an hour before showering and changing and then had another walk along the sea front and a drink at a local bar.
After dinner we were taken to the railway station for our overnight sleeper to Saigon or Ho Chi Min City as it is now known.
